Paper Structure
Engagement in this paper falls into three broad categories.
1. Full immersion in a workplace or community (e.g., internship, practicum, work placement, summer research scholarship, clinical placement).
2. Field-based applied projects/service learning (e.g., applied research projects, volunteering, industry projects, community projects, special topics with a community focus, entrepreneurialships, cultural performances).
3. In class and online learning to enhance readiness to seek, secure, and thrive in employment and/or other career pathways post qualification.
Students can find their own placements or select from the placements offered by University partners. The Work Placement process is managed by the Placement Coordinator and the MyWIL system.

Students who successfully complete the paper should be able to:
Assessment
This paper is 100% internally assessed. It is therefore particularly important that you submit all the assessment items. To maximise your chances of success, you need to be engaged in the paper and complete your placement with professionalism. Please note that this 15 point paper is like any other fulltime university course, in that you are expected to engage in all aspects of the course in order to maximise your success.
Assessment Components
The internal assessment/exam ratio (as stated in the University Calendar) is 100:0. There is no final exam.

Prior to the first workshop, read the 'Health and Safety at Work - quick reference guide' published by Worksafe (https://worksafe.govt.nz/managing-health-and-safety/getting-started/introduction-hswa-special-guide/). Also check the HSHUP301/302 Moodle page for other readings that may need to be completed in preparation for in-class discussions and group work.

The Moodle page for this paper is the central location for all information regarding this course including tasks and assessments, class notices, staff contact information, and panopto recordings. It is your responsibility to check this page regularly and to read the Moodle email notifications. Instructions provided on Moodle and in workshops are considered to be given to the class as a whole. In addition to Moodle, you will also use the university website, the library web page (and actual space), and a range of internet sites that will help to you complete this course. The lecturer will be available via email and Zoom (and in person).
